Mary McDuffie’s Message to Members

On 21 April, we hosted our Annual Meeting, the second consecutive year we’ve done so virtually due to the pandemic. Chairman John Lockard and I are proud of our team members and their accomplishments during a uniquely challenging year.

Despite the many unexpected twists and turns 2020 threw at us, our employees, members and broader community showed perseverance and grit. They rose to meet changing needs again and again.

I’m also happy to say 2021 is off to a good start.

We were recently named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For. This was the eleventh time—a tremendous honor! I believe this is a credit to the culture we’ve developed over the years and our emphasis on service. We had to lean on one another more than ever over this past year. This only reinforces my belief that we can overcome anything.

While we’re certainly proud of the workplace environment we’ve fostered in our branches and on our campuses, we know that’s only half the battle. Ensuring our members have access to resources to make their financial goals and well-being a reality motivates us every day. Whether that means investing in new branches and technology or offering ongoing support as we continue to recover economically as a nation, Navy Federal is committed to providing the best member experience possible.

Through it all, this dedication to you all has remained unwavering—and we know this trust is reciprocated. We’ve continued to thrive even amid uncertainty, reaching 10 million members earlier this year.

As we move through 2021, we know new challenges await. We’re here for you, constantly looking for better ways to serve. So, as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with feedback. We’d love to hear from you!
