If famous sites were going to be a highlight of your trip, you may not be out of luck after all. A number of tourist attractions from around the world offer tours you can take with your computer or smart device. Museums with this service include the American Museum of Natural History, the British Museum and the Louvre. Observe your favorite animals with virtual views of the San Diego Zoo and Monterey Bay Aquarium. You can even tour landmarks like Buckingham Palace, the Great Wall of China and the White House. Cleaning may sound like the last thing you want to do while you’re on vacation. But picture a hotel room for a moment. You might notice how clean and free of clutter it is—and how good that feels. Taking the time to tidy up your home can make a huge difference in your ability to relax. Without the mess of everyday living, you might be surprised at how different your home feels.
Send Your Senses on Vacation
Where did you plan to go on vacation? You may not be able to go, but you can still recreate the experience for your senses. Let’s say you were going to visit a tropical island. Using essential oils, candles or plants, you could fill your home with the smells of coconuts, frangipanis and sandalwood. If you have kids itching to get out of the house, a picnic is a great idea for all ages. Grab a basket of food and lay down a blanket on your lawn or driveway, and you’re good to go! Most libraries are closed right now, but you can still check out digital books to read on your devices. Meanwhile, streaming services are releasing new shows and movies earlier, so you have plenty of options to escape through your imagination while staying inside.

Is there anything more relaxing than sleeping? Enhance the experience by practicing relaxation techniques before bed like drinking herbal tea, taking a bath and meditating.
