Let’s face it, we all have money problems. Whether they’re small, big, simple or complex, it’s important they’re handled in a way that makes us feel secure, knowledgeable and in control. Knowledge is power—that’s where we come in. Navy Federal Credit Union is launching a new financial wellness podcast called MakingCents. I’m your host, Emily Bigham, and each week on the podcast, personal finance experts from Navy Federal will help me break down popular topics and give you actionable advice, tools, tricks and tips to set you up for success.

The goal is simple: we want to help you make sense of your money.

From creating the best savings plan for you, to managing debt, establishing credit and much more, I'll tackle a new topic each week to help you do exactly that, and hopefully provide some entertainment value along the way.

What makes me qualified to talk about money? Only that I deal with it on a daily basis, just like our members. My focus at Navy Federal is credit cards, but as MakingCents’ podcast host, it’s on me to ask our in-house experts the right questions, the hard questions and seemingly simple questions so listeners come away feeling equipped with knowledge and know their next steps.

With that said, we recognize that making the most out of our money looks a little different for everyone. Are you a Millennial or Gen Z’er searching for your first checking account or credit card? A Baby Boomer planning for retirement or trying to master all that online banking has to offer? Active Duty military pursuing a VA loan for their first home? No matter what stage of life you might find yourself in, this podcast is here to provide you with the answers you need to better manage your money and feel more secure in your financial circumstance.

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, let’s make finances one thing you don’t need to worry about. Throughout and beyond these trying times, I and my teammates across Navy Federal—and across the industry—are making it our mission to bring you the best advice and realistic perspective possible. Tune in to MakingCents wherever you listen to podcasts and start making financial health your mission, too.
