Our 5K Run/Walk continues a tradition of promoting the wellness of employees, members and residents of our local community.
We proudly support our communities by donating the proceeds to local 501(c)(3) charities.
Vienna, VA Event Details
Take a much-deserved break from your routine and come join hundreds of avid runners and walkers from the DC Metro area at the
Navy Federal 5K Run/Walk.
Whether you enjoy the thrill of competition or are just looking for a fun family adventure, you don't want to miss this 26th annual event. The Navy Federal 5K Run/Walk starts and finishes at Navy Federal Headquarters in Vienna with a course that meanders through town.
This race also offers runners post-race refreshments, entertainment and random prizes!
Register your dog and receive a special doggie goodie bag!
All participants who bring their dog must follow these rules:
- Keep your dog on a 4-foot leash. NO retractable leashes.
- You must pick up after your dog if they have a nature break (waste disposal bags will be provided).
- Competitive runners will line up in the front and will take off very fast. If you or your dog is new to this type of event, please line up in the middle to back of the pack. If your dog is new to this type of event, please give them plenty of room (near the back or to the sides of the pack) to ease into the race start.

Participants should park at NFCU Entrance 2.
Starts at the Navy Federal campus, winds through the neighborhoods of Vienna and finishes back at the Navy Federal campus.
Strollers and leashed pets are welcome.
The 4th Annual Virtual 5K will be held on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018! The Virtual 5K offers all Navy Federal team members the opportunity to participate as an extension of the Headquarters-based 5K. All proceeds will benefit the Committee For Helping Others in Virginia.
The deadline to register is Friday, Sept. 14. When registering, be sure to choose the ‘Virtual 5K’ option and complete your branch information.
Virtual 5K participants will receive race t-shirts and bibs, and are responsible for measuring their own 3.1-mile course. It’s recommended for each location to identify a point of contact to help coordinate these items.
The Fitness Center staff will collect ‘unofficial’ times from Virtual 5K participants in order to award medals to the Top 3 Overall Male and Female Virtual 5K participants, as well as the Top NFCU Employee Male and Female Virtual 5K participants. Navy Federal Employee-Only Packet Pickup:
Thursday, Sept. 27, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in Navy Federal's cafeteria.
Early Packet Pickup (recommended):
Friday, Sept. 28, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm at covered walkway located at Operations Center (NFCU Entrance 2) near parking structure at the Headquarters of Navy Federal Credit Union, 820 Follin Lane, Vienna, VA 22180.
Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup:
Saturday, Sept. 29, from 7:30 am to 8:50 am at Navy Federal's campus in Vienna.
*It's recommended that you pick up your race packet on Friday to avoid the lines on Saturday.
Overall awards will be based upon Gun time, and age group awards will be based upon Net time.
Cash Prizes awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Overall finishers and the Top Male and Top Female Navy Federal employee finishers.
1st Place: $75
2nd Place: $50
3rd Place: $25
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers overall (based upon Gun time). There will also be prizes for the top 3 male and female finishers (based upon Net time) in the following age groups: 5-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & up.
In addition, awards will be given to the top male and female Navy Federal employee finishers. Everyone who is present at the award ceremony is eligible for random awards from local merchants.

Committee For Helping Others
CHO is an all-volunteer organization that helps the needy in the Vienna, Oakton, Dunn Loring and Merrifield areas by providing emergency financial assistance, emergency food aid, clothing, furniture, meals on wheels and transportation.
