Mobile banking made easy. Hi, this is Tyler from Navy Federal. With our easy-to-use mobile app, banking is convenient and secure. Check balances, deposit checks, pay bills, and sign in quickly with touch or face ID. 

To get started, you'll need to set up the mobile app. It's easy. Let's start with creating a username. Grab your access number and the password you created to set up online banking. Open our mobile app and sign in. 

Select More from the bottom navigation bar. Select Profile and Settings, then select Username in the Profile section. Create a unique and secure username. Select Submit Username and you're done. 

If you ever forget your username, don't worry, it's easy to find. I'll show you. Open the mobile app and select Sign In Help. Select Continue. 

Choose how you want to search for your username. Search either using debit or credit card number or your savings account number. Enter your date of birth and the Social Security number, then select Continue. Your username is at the top of the screen with a link for you to sign in. That's it. 

Now let's find your access number. You'll need it to identify yourself in the branch or on the phone. Here's how. Select More from the bottom navigation bar, then select Profile and Settings. Your access number is in the Personal Information section on the screen. 

Need to update your address? Select Address in the Profile section of the screen. Select the address type. You can choose from domestic, foreign, APO, DPO, or FPO. Then enter the street address and effective date. Be sure to select Update Address and you're good to go.

Set Your Username

TYLER: Mobile banking made easy. Hi, this is Tyler from Navy Federal. Our mobile app allows you to securely navigate and manage your accounts. But first, you need to create a username. I'll show you how.

Grab your Access Number and password you created to set up online banking. Open the mobile app and sign in.

Select More from the bottom navigation bar.

Select Profile & Settings, then select Username in the Profile section.

Create a unique and secure username.

Your username must contain 6 to 32 characters, at least one number and letter, and cannot contain any blank spaces.

Select Submit Username, and you're done!

Reset Your Password

Open the mobile app and select Sign In Help.

Press Continue.

To verify your identity, select either the account number or a credit or debit card associated with your account and fill out your date of birth and social security number.

When you're ready, hit Continue.

Next, select how you want to receive your security code.

We can either text, send a push notification, or email.

Select Send.

Then check your text, push notifications, or email to find the security code.

Enter the code in the box and press Submit.

Now, you'll enter a new password.

Make sure that it contains between eight and 32 characters, at least one number, at least one capital letter, at least one special character, and no blank spaces.

If you want to see what you're typing, just tap the eye icon.

Fill out the new password again to confirm that it matches and select Submit Password.

Then, sign in using your new credentials and you're good to go. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

Set Up 2-Step Verification

2-step Verification gives you an extra layer of protection when you sign into your Navy Federal account. I can help you set it up.

Open and sign in to the mobile app.

Select More from the bottom navigation bar.

Select Profile and Settings in the upper left, then Sign In Preferences.

Under Sign In Preferences, press 2-step Verification, then slide the toggle to the right so that the bar turns blue.

Next, you'll choose your 2-step verification method.

You can receive your Navy Federal security code through text message, push notification, or email.

Choose your preferred option then select Send.

Check your texts, push notifications, or email to find your security code, then enter it in the Enter Code box.

Keep in mind, you only have a few minutes to enter your security code after it's sent to you.

Press Submit to complete 2-step Verification Setup.

You can also select Remember Device to sign in faster in the future.

Set Up Personalized Notifications

DEKYAN: Mobile banking made easy. Hi. This is DeKyan from Navy Federal. Did you can personalize what notifications you get and how you get them. Here's how to set up your personalized notifications.

First, open and sign in to the mobile app. Then, select More from the bottom navigation bar. Hit Notification Settings. Here, you'll be able to toggle between Accounts, Cards, and Security using the tabs.

Select the account that you'd like to personalize. On this screen, you can choose from a list of notifications that you'd like to receive, things like deposit confirmations, or notifications if your available balance falls below $0.

After selecting that option, you can customize the available balance threshold amount for notifications. Select the corresponding icons to choose whether you'd like to receive push, text, or email notifications.

To enroll in text notifications, enter the mobile number you'd like to use, then hit Save. To begin sending you text notifications, Navy Federal will need to send an initial enrollment text. You can either hit Send to get that enrollment text now, or select Not Now, and we can send the text later.

If you choose Not Now, be to return to the screen when it's convenient for you so we can send the text and finish your enrollment. Once you select your preferred method for all of the notifications you'd like to receive, press Save. You'll get a confirmation that your preferences have been updated.

And remember, you can always follow the same steps to personalize notifications for your other Navy Federal accounts and cards. Now, that's mobile banking made easy.

  4. Select the account you'd like to personalize. On the next screen, you can choose from a list of notification types and customize the balance threshold.

  6. To enroll in text notifications, enter the mobile number you'd like to use and hit Save. You can choose to send the initial enrollment text now or later.
  7. Once you've finished setup, press Save. You'll receive a confirmation that your preferences have been updated.

Open and sign into the mobile app. On your Accounts screen, select the Checking or Savings Account you'd like to access. Under your account balance, select Show More Details. This section will expand to show you additional account information, including your full Routing Number. Keep in mind, the Navy Federal routing number is the same for all accounts.

To see your full account number, select Show on the right.

If you want to copy and paste your account number into another browser or website, just press and hold until all the numbers are highlighted, then hit Copy.

That's it. To minimize this section, just select Hide Details. Now that's Mobile Banking Made Easy.

Then tap the icon at the bottom right for ATM and branch locations. If you're already signed into the app, just select More from the navigation at the bottom of the screen, then Locations. You may need to enable location services for the app. Don't worry, it's simple. Just tap OK, which will take you to your smartphone settings. There you can change the permissions from never to any of the three following options-- Ask Next Time Or When I Share, While Using the App, or Always. Also, make sure the Precise Location toggle is set to On. That will allow the app to pinpoint your location as well, as nearby ATMs and branches. Now you can return to the Navy Federal app, where you'll find a listing of nearby ATM and branch locations, including distances and street address.

There are filtering options available to narrow your search, including Branch Only, Deposit, Not Restricted Access, Drive-Thru, Mortgage Counseling, and Distance. Keep in mind that only the locations with a check in the branch column are full service branches. Choose a location that's most convenient for you. From here, you can "favorite" a location by selecting the heart, so it'll pop up every time you're trying to find directions to this location. You can also select Get Directions, which will open your smartphone's mapping app for step-by-step directions. Then it's time to hit the road. We look forward to serving you. View Your Account Statements

First, open and sign into the mobile app. At the bottom of the account screen, you'll see several options-- Accounts, Transfers, Deposits, Bill Pay, and more. 

 

Select the three dots in the bottom right corner for more. Toward the top of the screen, tap Account and Tax Statements, then select Account Statements. From the Account Statements screen, select the account you'd like to view. Statements are arranged by date. Simply tap the one you'd like to review right in the app. 

 

You can tap the Share icon to print your statement or email it to yourself. You can also view your tax statements when they're available. Want to go green and increase security with paperless statements? I can help with that. Head to the Statement screen and tap Digital Statement Delivery. Select the accounts you'd like to switch from paper to digital or just choose All Statements. Tap Save, and the selected statement will be delivered right to your email address.

At the bottom of the account screen you'll see several options-- Accounts, Transfers, Deposits, Bill Pay, and More. Tap the three dots in the bottom right corner for More. Then head to Profile and Settings. To change your phone number select Phone. You can remove an outdated phone number or update your existing one, all with just a few taps on your mobile device. We'll send you an email confirming this change to your account. Also, if you're enrolled in text notifications, you'll need to make sure to update your number in the notifications settings under Preferences and enroll again. Your phone number will need to be updated for each individual notification you've set up. 

 

Ready to update their email address? You'll also find it under Profile and Settings. This time select Email. Enter your new email address, then tap Save. That's it. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

Add an Account & Make a Transfer

If you want to move money between your Navy Federal accounts or make a payment on your Navy Federal Credit card or other loan, our mobile app makes it quick and easy. You can also transfer money to one of your accounts outside Navy Federal Credit Union or to another Navy Federal member as well.

To get started, open and sign into the app. First, you'll need to add the transfer account information. So click Transfers in the bottom navigation bar, then select View/Add Accounts.

Press the plus sign in the upper right corner. Then choose whether you'd like to add a Navy Federal personal account, Navy Federal business or association account, or an account to an external financial institution. You can either link accounts using the member's email address or account number.

Just remember, transfers and bill pay tools require access to your contacts in your phone, which needs to be toggled on in your settings on your phone or device in order to make a transfer.

Once you've entered the account information, tap Continue. Review the information, and if everything on the screen is correct, select Add Account. The new account will now be listed in the corresponding section of the Transfer Accounts screen.

To make a transfer, make sure you're on the Transfer screen, which you can access from the bottom navigation bar. Select Make Transfer, then fill out the transfer information. You'll need to select which account the money will be transferred from and which account it will be sent to, along with the amount and date.

Once you've entered all the transfer information, press Continue. Review and confirm that everything is correct, then select Make Transfer. You'll receive a confirmation that the transfer has been scheduled. Then you can track its status on the Transfer screen. Now, that's mobile banking made easy.

  3. Tap the plus sign in the upper right corner, choose the account type, enter the required information, and tap Continue.
  4. Review the information, and if everything on the screen is correct, select Add Account.
  5. To transfer, use the bottom navigation bar to go to the Transfer screen and select Make Transfer.
  6. Select the transferring and receiving accounts and enter the amount and the date, then select Continue.
  7. Review your information and then select Make Transfer.

Transfers and bill pay tools require access to contacts on your phone. This setting must be toggled on in your phone or device settings.

Renew Your Certificate

Certificates are a great way to earn higher dividends than a regular savings account, but it's important to know that certificates come with a built-in time frame. Once you reach the end of that time, you'll have to decide whether to cash out or renew your certificate. I'll show you how.

Open and sign in to the mobile app. In the Certificate section of your Account Summary, choose the Certificate that you'd like to update. Select Manage Maturity on the right then press Get Started. Here you have the option to renew your funds for the full amount, renew only a specific amount, or cash out your funds. Select your desired option then hit Continue.

If you're renewing, choose the type of Certificate that you like, select your preferred minimum balance and term, then continue. Review your new instructions to make sure everything on the screen is correct then press Submit. Once you receive your confirmation, you're all set. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

Order Cashier's Checks

RUSS: Mobile banking made easy. Hi, this is Russ from Navy Federal. Need to order cashier's checks? It's simple. Just open and sign in to the mobile app. Press More in the bottom navigation bar. Select Send Money. Then select Request a Cashier's Check.

You can either request a new cashier's check or use a recent check as a template. Once you've chosen an option, hit Continue. Enter all the payment information, including which Navy Federal account you'd like to pay from, who the check will be payable to, the check amount, and a memo if needed, then press Continue.

Select your preferred delivery method. You can either pick up the cashier's check at a participating Navy Federal branch or have it mailed to you. Select Continue. Verify that the delivery address is correct, then hit Continue. Different shipping options will vary in price.

Choose the option that's best for you, then hit Continue. Review the cashier's check and shipping information. Once everything looks good, select Submit. On the confirmation screen, select Done. You're all set. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

RUSS: Mobile banking made easy. Hi, this is Russ from Navy Federal. Our mobile app allows you to quickly send and receive money using Zelle.

To get started, open and sign in to the mobile app. Select More from the bottom navigation bar. Select Send Money, then Send money with Zelle.

Press the Get Started button at the bottom of the screen. You can either send money, request money, or split the bill using Zelle, but for now let's take a look at how to send money. First, select Send Money.

Then select Add New Contact, and enter your contact's first and last name in the respective fields. You'll need to enter the email address, mobile number, or account number of the contact you're sending money to. You can also add a contact with your phone's contact list. Keep in mind Zelle should only be used to send money to people and businesses you trust. Select Save.

Review the information in the pop-up box, then press Next. On the next screen, enter the amount of money you'd like to send. You can either send money now or press change to select a different date. Under the dropdown menu under From My, choose the account you would like to send money from. Then select Review.

Review the information on the screen. Once everything looks good, hit Send. You're all set. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

RUSS: Mobile banking made easy. Hi, this is Russ from Navy Federal. Want to request an increase to your credit limit on your Navy Federal Credit card? I'll show you how in just a few simple steps.

First, open and sign in to the mobile app. In the Loans and Credit section of your Account Summary, choose the credit card that you'd like to submit a request for. Select manage Card on the left-hand side of the screen. Under maintenance select Increase Credit Limit.

Once you review and confirm that all the contact information on the screen is correct, hit Continue.

In the Requested Credit Limit field, enter the new total credit limit amount you'd like. Then, select Continue. Fill out your employer or source of income, total annual income before taxes, housing type, and monthly housing payment under Primary Applicant Information which will help us make a decision on your credit limit request.

Select Continue. Review and confirm that all your application information on the screen is correct, then press Submit. You'll receive a confirmation that your request is under review. In most cases, a decision will be made within 24 hours. Now that's mobile banking made easy.

  1. Sign in to the mobile app.
  2. In the Loans and Credit section, choose the credit card account you’d like to request an increase for and select Manage Card.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Increase Credit Limit.
  4. Review your contact information to ensure it’s accurate and select Continue.
  5. Enter the credit limit amount you’d like to request and select Continue.
  6. Fill in the Primary Application Information and then select Continue.
  7. Review your application and then select Submit and Done.

After your request is submitted, you’ll receive a decision for your request in 24 hours.
