If a Suspicious Message Appears to Be From Us

Know that Navy Federal will never solicit your personal information over the phone or through email. Please contact us about any suspicious messages that appear to be from Navy Federal and provide the following information. For security reasons, please don't include any personal account information in the email.

 

Email

Forward the message to phishalert@navyfederal.org with the original subject line and include the name of your Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the body.

 

Phone or Text

Send an email to reportabuse@navyfederal.org with the time and date of the call or text, the number it originated from and what was requested.

 

Social Media

Send an email to reportabuse@navyfederal.org with the content of the message you received along with the social media account where it originated.

Using state-of-the-art fraud prevention systems, our dedicated staff monitors your accounts for fraud and unusual activity and will notify you of any suspicious activity we identify. We follow strict safeguards when mailing out cards and statements, and verify your identity whenever we receive calls. To be certain that we reach you quickly, please make sure we have your updated contact information. In addition, our Zero Liability policy ensures that you won't be responsible for confirmed unauthorized transactions to your Navy Federal Debit or Credit Card.

  1. Keep your contact information current. We need to reach you quickly if we spot suspicious activity, so make sure we can reach you without delay.
  2. Add travel notifications. Let us know when and where you’re traveling to avoid unexpected account holds. You can add a travel notification in 3 ways:
  • Sign in to Account Access and add a travel notification to your debit or credit card.
  • Choose the travel notification option on the Navy Federal mobile app.*
