Dietrich Kuhlmann’s Message to Members

Later this month, more than 400 American athletes will travel to Paris for the 2024 Summer Games. Across dozens of unique sporting events, these men and women will be in France competing to bring the most medals back to the United States for the eighth consecutive Summer Games.

Many of us stateside will be among the estimated 1 billion people watching the games worldwide. This event is always a tremendous reminder of the common values that bind us as Americans, and it’s again an opportunity to come together as a nation as we support the athletes representing our country with pride.

This year’s Summer Games were one of many topics I was thrilled to discuss with the Credit Union Times on a recent episode of its podcast, Shared Accounts. In our 30-minute conversation, we covered everything from the future of Navy Federal’s branch network and our ongoing work to enhance financial education in the U.S., to our broader strategic vision for the credit union. As summer moves along quickly—like it always does—many Active Duty servicemembers also find themselves in the heart of military PCS season. Whether this is your first or last relocation, there are countless factors to remember as a change of station looms. Beyond our resources on homebuying in today’s challenging economic market, Navy Federal’s Relocation and Separation Guide can help prepare you for whatever transition you may face in the coming months.

Of course, not too far on the horizon is the beginning of the 2024–2025 school year, and Navy Federal is proud to announce our continued partnership with United Through Reading. This nonprofit organization works to unite separated military families by offering servicemembers and Veterans the chance to video record themselves reading books to loved ones from over 200 global locations or through its mobile app.
Navy Federal’s annual Virtual Book Drive—which launched July 15 and runs through Aug. 10—helps support United Through Reading’s work, with all donations directly benefiting the children of U.S. military men and women.

Finally, as hurricane season approaches its most active period in the U.S., it’s a good reminder for everyone—not just those along the Gulf and Atlantic coasts—to ensure they’re prepared in the event of severe weather. Navy Federal’s Natural Disaster Preparedness page has resources to help you and your loved ones safely and effectively navigate extreme weather events, from hurricanes and tornadoes to wildfires and floods.

Please know that we’re always just a call, click or branch visit away if there’s anything we can do for you or your family. As always, thanks for placing your trust in Navy Federal.

Sincerely,
Dietrich Kuhlmann
